يَٰمَعۡشَرَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِ أَلَمۡ يَأۡتِكُمۡ رُسُلٞ مِّنكُمۡ يَقُصُّونَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ ءَايَٰتِي وَيُنذِرُونَكُمۡ لِقَآءَ يَوۡمِكُمۡ هَٰذَاۚ قَالُواْ شَهِدۡنَا عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِنَاۖ وَغَرَّتۡهُمُ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَشَهِدُواْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ أَنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ كَٰفِرِينَ ١٣٠ ﴿130 ذَٰلِكَ أَن لَّمۡ يَكُن رَّبُّكَ مُهۡلِكَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ بِظُلۡمٖ وَأَهۡلُهَا غَٰفِلُونَ ١٣١ ﴿131 وَلِكُلّٖ دَرَجَٰتٞ مِّمَّا عَمِلُواْۚ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا يَعۡمَلُونَ ١٣٢ ﴿132
130“O species of Jinn and mankind, had the messengers not come to you, from among yourselves, who used to relate My verses to you, and used to warn you of the encounter of this your day?” They will say, “We testify against ourselves.” The worldly life had deceived them, and they will testify against themselves that they were disbelievers. 131That (Allah sends messengers) is because your Lord is not to destroy any towns on account of any wrongdoing, while their people are unaware. 132For all people, there are ranks according to what they did, and your Lord is not unaware of what they do.

His saying - glorified and exalted is He -: "O assembly of jinn and mankind, did not messengers come to you from among yourselves, recounting to you My signs and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?" They said, "We bear witness against ourselves." And the life of this world deceived them. And they bore witness against themselves that they were disbelievers." "That is because your Lord would not destroy the cities unjustly while their people were unaware." "And for each are degrees from what they have done, and your Lord is not unaware of what they do."
