وَقَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ يَٰهَٰمَٰنُ ٱبۡنِ لِي صَرۡحٗا لَّعَلِّيٓ أَبۡلُغُ ٱلۡأَسۡبَٰبَ ٣٦ ﴿36 أَسۡبَٰبَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ فَأَطَّلِعَ إِلَىٰٓ إِلَٰهِ مُوسَىٰ وَإِنِّي لَأَظُنُّهُۥ كَٰذِبٗاۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِفِرۡعَوۡنَ سُوٓءُ عَمَلِهِۦ وَصُدَّ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِۚ وَمَا كَيۡدُ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِلَّا فِي تَبَابٖ ٣٧ ﴿37 وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِيٓ ءَامَنَ يَٰقَوۡمِ ٱتَّبِعُونِ أَهۡدِكُمۡ سَبِيلَ ٱلرَّشَادِ ٣٨ ﴿38 يَٰقَوۡمِ إِنَّمَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا مَتَٰعٞ وَإِنَّ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَ هِيَ دَارُ ٱلۡقَرَارِ ٣٩ ﴿39 مَنۡ عَمِلَ سَيِّئَةٗ فَلَا يُجۡزَىٰٓ إِلَّا مِثۡلَهَاۖ وَمَنۡ عَمِلَ صَٰلِحٗا مِّن ذَكَرٍ أَوۡ أُنثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤۡمِنٞ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ يَدۡخُلُونَ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ يُرۡزَقُونَ فِيهَا بِغَيۡرِ حِسَابٖ ٤٠ ﴿40
36And Fir‘aun (Pharaoh) said, “O Hāmān, make a tower for me, perhaps I could reach the ways - 37the ways to the heavens, and peek towards the God of Mūsā. And indeed I deem him a liar.” That is how his evil deeds were made attractive to Fir‘aun, and (how) he was held back from the way. The evil design of Fir‘aun was (to end) in nothing but ruin. 38And said he who had believed, “O my people, follow me, I will show you the path of guidance. 39O my people, this life of the world is only a (momentary) benefit, while the Hereafter is, indeed, the place of permanent living. 40The one who does something evil will not be punished but in its equal proportion, but the one who does a righteous deed, be he male or female, while he is a believer, then, such people will enter the Jannah (Paradise) where they will be provided with bounties beyond reckoning.

His saying, exalted is He: "And Pharaoh said, 'O Haman, build for me a tower so that I may reach the means. The means of the heavens, so that I may look at the God of Moses, and indeed, I think he is a liar.' And thus was made alluring to Pharaoh the evil of his deed, and he was hindered from the way. And the plot of Pharaoh was not but in ruin." "And the one who believed said, 'O my people, follow me; I will guide you to the path of right guidance.' "O my people, indeed, this worldly life is but a enjoyment, and indeed, the Hereafter is the abode of permanence." "Whoever does a bad deed will not be recompensed except by its equivalent, and whoever does a righteous deed, whether male or female, while he is a believer, those will enter Paradise, being given therein provision without account." Allah, exalted and glorious, mentioned the statement of Pharaoh when he was exhausted by the tricks in resisting Moses, peace be upon him, with a proof.
