His saying, exalted and majestic is He:

﴿And remember what is recited in your houses of the verses of Allah and the wisdom. Indeed, Allah is All-Aware and All-Knowing﴾

﴿Indeed, the Muslim men and the Muslim women, the believing men and the believing women, the obedient men and the obedient women, the truthful men and the truthful women, the patient men and the patient women, the humble men and the humble women, the charitable men and the charitable women, the fasting men and the fasting women, the men who guard their private parts and the women who guard (them), and the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember (Him) - Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward﴾

The connection of these words indicates that "the people of the house" refers to his women. According to the opinion of the majority, this is the beginning of an address. Allah, exalted is He, commanded the wives of the Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him, in the context of admonition and enumerating the blessings, to remember what is recited in their houses. The term "remembrance" here carries two meanings, both of which are admonition and enumeration of blessings: one of them is that He means by saying: "remember," that is, make Him remembered and acknowledge His status, and think that from this condition of Him, it is appropriate that you improve your actions. The other is that He means: "remember" in the sense of: preserve and read, and keep your tongues attached to it, as if He is saying: and preserve the commands of Allah and His prohibitions, and that is what is recited in your houses of the verses of Allah, and that leads you to righteousness. And "the wisdom" is the Sunnah of Allah, blessed and exalted is He, upon the tongue of His Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him, without it being in a recited Quran. It is possible that it is a description of the verses. And He, the Most High, began by mentioning "Islam," which encompasses faith and the actions of the limbs. Then He mentioned "faith" specifically, as a reminder that it is the essence of Islam and its foundation. And "the obedient": the worshipper who is compliant. And "the truthful": its meaning is that in what he has been pledged, he fulfills and completes it. And "the patient": in refraining from desires and in obedience during hardship and ease. And "the humble": the one who fears Allah, submissive to His lordship, and dignified. And "the charitable": in obligatory and voluntary acts, and it is said that it is specifically in the obligatory, and the first is more praiseworthy. And "the fasting one" is likewise in the obligatory and voluntary. And "guarding the private parts" is from fornication and its like, and included with that is everything that leads to fornication or is on its way to it. And in His saying: ﴿ "And those who guard"﴾, there is an omission of a pronoun indicated by what precedes it, its estimation being: and those who guard it. And in "the remembering ones" is also similar. And "the forgiveness" is the covering of their sins and pardoning them. And "the great reward": Paradise.
