Commentary
His saying, exalted and glorified is He:
﴿And [mention] Qarun and Fir'aun and Haman. And indeed, Musa came to them with clear proofs, but they were arrogant in the land, and they were not preceding [in faith].﴾ ﴿So We took each [of them] for his sin. And among them was he upon whom We sent a storm of stones, and among them was he who was seized by the blast, and among them was he whom We caused the earth to swallow, and among them was he whom We drowned. And Allah would not have wronged them, but they were wronging themselves.﴾
Qarun is established either by an implied action, the meaning of which is: mention, or by conjunction with what has preceded. Qarun is from the Children of Israel, and his story regarding the treasures and his oppression of Musa ibn Imran, peace be upon him, has been mentioned before. Fir'aun is well-known, and Haman is his minister, and he is from the Copts. And
