His saying, exalted and majestic is He: "And Lot believed him and said, 'Indeed, I am migrating to my Lord. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.'" "And We granted him Isaac and Jacob and made in his descendants prophethood and the Scripture, and We gave him his reward in this world, and indeed, he will be among the righteous in the Hereafter." "And [mention] Lot when he said to his people, 'Indeed, you approach men with desire, instead of women. Rather, you are a transgressing people.'"

"Believed" means: he affirmed, and it is an action that can take a preposition with 'ba' or 'lam'. The one saying, 'Indeed, I am migrating,' is Ibrahim, peace be upon him, as stated by Qatadah and Al-Nakha'i. A group said: it is Lot, peace be upon him.

Among what is confirmed from the stories is that Ibrahim and Lot migrated from their village 'Kawth', which is in the region of Kufa from the land of Babel to the lands of the Levant, Palestine and others. Ibn Jurayj said: they migrated to Harran, then they were commanded afterward to go to the Levant. In this migration, Sarah was with Ibrahim, and she encountered the matter of the king. And "the migrant" is the one who leaves a matter, and in the terminology of Shari'ah, it is the one who leaves his homeland seeking the pleasure of Allah, exalted and mighty is He. The companions of Muhammad, blessings and peace be upon him, took this name before the conquest. And His saying, "the Exalted in Might, the Wise," with the migration to Him are two eloquent attributes that necessitate the right to rely upon Him. And in His saying, "to my Lord," there is an omission of a genitive, its estimation is: to the pleasure of my Lord, or something like this.

And Isaac, son of Ibrahim, is the one he was given glad tidings of, and he was given glad tidings of Jacob after him, and he is the son of Isaac. And "the Scripture" is a generic name, meaning: Allah, exalted and mighty is He, made in the descendants of Ibrahim, peace be upon him, all the revealed books: the Torah, the Gospel, the Psalms, and the Criterion, and 'Isa, peace be upon him, is from his descendants. And His saying, "his reward in this world" means: in his life, where he attained that and was pleased with it, and the reward that Allah, exalted and mighty is He, granted him is safety from the Fire, and from the tyrannical king, and righteous deeds, and good praise. This was said by Mujahid. And that every nation will take him as a guardian, this was said by Ibn Jurayj. And the child with whom the eye was pleased is according to the obedience of Allah, exalted and mighty is He, this was said by Al-Hasan. Then it was informed about him that he will be in the Hereafter among the righteous who attained the pleasure of Allah, blessed and exalted is He, and succeeded with His mercy and supreme honor.

And His saying, exalted and majestic is He: "And Lot" is established by an implied action, its estimation is: and mention Lot, and "the transgression" refers to the act of approaching men in their rears, and it is a sin that was innovated by the people of Lot.
