Commentary

And when he informed of his tyranny and hastened to mention his remedy, because the initiative with the remedy is necessary so that the disease does not take control, it indicated his tyranny, fearing the consequences of the return in the style of confirmation. This is because it has a greater impact on the soul and is more astonishing for the mind. For Abu Jahl said: 'If I see Muhammad prostrating, I will surely smash his head with a stone.' So he came to do what he claimed, but he turned back on his heels and his hands became stiff on his stone. He was asked about what had befallen him, and he said: 'Between me and him is a horror and wings.' In one narration: 'a trench of fire.' In another narration: 'a male camel.' I have not seen anything like it, and if I had approached him, he would have eaten me.' The origin of the hadith is in Sahih Muslim from Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him. He said: 'Did you see?' It has preceded in Al-An'am that this action, if it is not visual, means informed. The meaning is: [He informed me] Did you know with your heart a knowledge that is as clear as the sight of your eyes? 'The one who forbids' means in the manner of renewal and continuity.
