Commentary
And when there is no remedy for that like the remembrance of the recompense, he said, knowing that man is always in need of his Lord in his life and in his death, in his richness and his poverty. Warning him of the evil of his conditions, confirming for the sake of their denial of that: "Indeed, to your Lord" means the One who is good to you with the message by which He raised your mention, not to anyone else from the dust and the like. "The return" means the greatest, certain return from which there is no escape. As for in this world, there is no escape from acknowledging it, for no one is capable of anything except by His decree. And as for in the Hereafter, it is what He established in His proof in Surah At-Tin. He will hold people accountable for their deeds and reward each one according to what he deserves of reward or punishment. In it is a warning for the tyrant and a belittling of wealth that will come to an end.
