And when this is the utmost of humiliation, and the disbelievers only intend by their pride and arrogance to be dignified and not to be followers or subordinates, indeed, they are honored by their people. The closest to whom a person can be honored is the people of his circle. They are the people who gather during the day to talk to one another and to find comfort in each other due to the clarity among them, for they do not leave their work during the day and only gather for that purpose. Allah, the Most High, said, causing him to be taken in this disgraceful manner: "So let him call his assembly," meaning the people who used to gather with him during the day to talk in a place where some of them call to one another from his supporters and his tribe to rescue him from what he is in. The one concerning whom this was revealed is Abu Jahl. The Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him, said: "Do you threaten me while I am the most numerous in the valley of my assembly?"
