And when he mentioned what relates to the scientific power, he followed it with what pertains to the practical power and said: ﴿The one who gives his wealth﴾ meaning he spends it in the avenues of goodness. Therefore, he clarified it by His saying, the Exalted: ﴿He purifies himself﴾ meaning he cleanses himself from impurities and filth by purifying his soul and nurturing it through this giving by distancing himself from the vices of morals and adhering to their virtues, for he did not lie nor turn away. And the verse is from the type of implication: he mentioned denial first as evidence for the omission of its opposite second, and the giving of wealth second as evidence for the omission of its opposite first.
