Commentary
So We will make it easy for him. That is, We prepare him with what We have of greatness. It is a promise that there is no breaking of it. For hardship, that is, for the trait which is the hardest of things and the most distressing of them. It is the action that angers Him, glorified and exalted is He, which necessitates entering the Fire and what leads to it. And He indicated with the pronoun of greatness in each of the paths of good and the paths of evil that the committing of a person to each of them is extremely distant. As for the path of good, it is due to what surrounds it of the disliked matters. And as for the path of evil, it is due to what is in the intellect and the original nature of the first deterrents from it. And all of that is a matter that has been determined in the beginning by specifying the people of happiness and the people of misery. And every one, as he said, blessings and peace be upon him, is made easy for what he was created for.
