Commentary

And when this situation made it clear that the oath is indeed by him ﷺ, he repeated the oaths by him in a manner that includes others, saying: ﴿And by the father﴾. And since the intended meaning is to express amazement at the beginning of creation through the birth of every living being in all matters of birth, and what pertains to humans in speech and expression, and strange understanding, and since the context is to condemn those with commanding souls, who are the majority of people, it is a good expression with a tool that does not comprehend because it is one of the tools of amazement. So he said: ﴿And what he has born﴾, meaning of male or female, whoever it may be. Thus, as the Prophet ﷺ has proceeded, he became one who swears by him repeatedly. Likewise, his parents, Ibrahim and his son Ismail (blessings and peace be upon them), and what they did and what Allah did for them in that land. It is known that mentioning the creation is a reminder of its Creator. The intended purpose is the oath by the One who made the land as it is in its majesty, and he specifically mentioned the Prophet ﷺ with what he was honored with in terms of sending, and he distinguished between the parents in attributes, in deficiency and perfection, and all other conditions, as a reminder of what he has of perfection in majesty and beauty. For indeed, the severity of trial is for the best of the best, as has been mentioned with regard to his ﷺ command of patience and forgiveness. And every parent and offspring is in difficulty due to parenthood and offspring, and other countless human distresses, from the time he is a drop in three darknesses in a narrow passage and abode, then birth and binding in a coffin and weaning from familiarity and family? From the educator and teacher and reprimand from the elders and opposition from peers, and those who dominate him from women, while he is also exposed to diseases, and all that he dislikes from ailments and purposes, and hardships and calamities, and demands and needs, he does not attain his desires, nor reach his goals, nor comprehend what he has chosen, nor usually escape what he fears. The details of this generality are countless, and there is no limit to it, so it cannot be fully enumerated, until death and what follows it. Therefore, the one who swears by him said:
