Commentary
And when glorified and exalted is He established the proof for what was mentioned in this verse, which He concluded by saying that He enriched them from His bounty, He followed it by establishing the proof for it and for their withholding their hands and for their committing the most heinous lies. He said: ﴿And among them is he who made a covenant with Allah﴾, meaning the one who has no greater than it. ﴿If You give us﴾, meaning: of the good that is with You, and an acknowledgment that there is no right for anyone over Him by His saying: ﴿from His bounty﴾, meaning: by any means whether it be from trade, or spoils of war, or agriculture, or otherwise. And He confirmed that he is a liar who thinks that people will deny him. And so is every liar. He said: ﴿Surely we will certainly be truthful﴾, meaning: from what You have given us without any show - as indicated by the merging. ﴿And we will certainly be among﴾, meaning: a state that indicates that we are inclined towards good. ﴿the righteous﴾, meaning: for every good we are called to.
