Commentary
And when he mentioned the two tribes of the Arabs, he mentioned some of those who lived nearby from the tyrants of the non-Arabs due to what is in their story of arrogance and tyranny, along with what it contains of wonders and extraordinary phenomena, especially in the ability to resurrect by turning a staff into a living creature and returning it to being inanimate with repetition, and in bringing forth frogs and lice from the earth's mounds and other than that. He said: ﴿And Pharaoh﴾ meaning and he acted with Pharaoh ﴿the one of the stakes﴾ meaning the one who established his kingdom as firmly as one who thinks that it will not be removed by armies and soldiers, or anything else that he thinks will strengthen his matter from gardens, springs, crops, and noble positions. Thus, his hand became extended in dominion.
