Commentary

And when the punishment cannot be except upon that which the punished dislikes, this indicates that it is based on the action for the object in the reading of Abu Amr and Ya'qub and Abu Bakr from Asim. He said: "It will be entered" meaning it is prayed by a person in the easiest and simplest manner, by the command of the one who has the command to force it upon the face of encompassing it. The meaning in the reading of the group, based on the subject, is: it enters and directly engages by having its companions thrust it into it, so it surrounds it from every side. This indicates the utmost humiliation, for whoever does this to himself cannot be except like this: "a blazing fire" that is extreme in heat because it acted in ignorance contrary to what its prophet defined for it. Thus, it fell short of a pillar for the action or a condition for what has taken hold of it from the negligence that surrounded it, so there was no place called for it suitable for the entrance of mercy from it.
