And when what he mentioned of the wonders of His creation in the types of creatures, from the simple and the compound, the lofty and the low, indicated the perfection of His power over all things, it indicated the perfection of His power over resurrection and over all that he mentioned that he would do in Paradise and Hell. The encouragement to reflect on these matters was with an interrogative denial, and that was beneficial for the negation of reflection. He, glorified and exalted is He, said, causing it to be: ﴿So remind﴾ every one who is hoped to remember and benefit from the reminder, O most noble of our creation, with what is in their instincts and natures of the primordial knowledge of what is in these matters and their likes, which indicates the truth of what We have revealed to you, to guide them to the perfection of the power of the One who sent you, so that they may submit to you in complete submission, especially in believing in the reality of resurrection. And do not let it concern you that they do not reflect or ponder. Perhaps the reminder will lead the one who remembers, if he approaches it with good desire, to recognize that camels resemble the tranquil souls that are submissive and obedient. The heavens resemble the pure, luminous spirits. The mountains resemble the fixed, established minds and knowledge. The earth resembles the body that encompasses the limbs and parts.
And when this Surah was Meccan, from the earliest of what was revealed, and he was commanded at that time to overlook, he said: ﴿Indeed, you are only a reminder﴾ meaning, you are not a conqueror who compels them to remember and return. So do not be concerned if they do not reflect or remember, for upon you is only the conveyance. For this reason, he said.
