Commentary
And when He, glorified and exalted is He, mentioned this singular created being, which is the clearest evidence of this saying by nature, He followed it with the mention of the sky so that the listener may remember that and distance himself from those who say it. He said: ﴿And to the sky﴾ meaning that which is among our creations ﴿How was it raised﴾ meaning how was its raising achieved by the easiest matter from the One who created it without pillars, considering its vastness, greatness, weight, and perfection, and what is in it of the mountains of stars, wonders, and marvels. That is evidence of the complete power, in which no one shares with Him, whether little or great, in the creation of the lofty paradise and in the raising of the thrones [in it], for it indicates the action by choice and negates the judgment of nature as a ruling and necessity. And that is evidence of the perfection of His power, glorified and exalted is He, over all things.
