And when it was the case that those who are in this abode need additional cushions and bedding, Allah, the Exalted, said: ﴿And cushions﴾ meaning cushions they lean on, the plural of namruqa with a fatha and a damma, which is the pillow. ﴿Arrayed﴾ meaning some of them next to each other, so they are in extreme abundance as if they are hills stacked upon the surface of the earth.
