Commentary

And when that was general, it was specified among it, in honor of the status of this admonition (p-408), the greatest of the ancient prophets. He said, changing and indicating the reasoning by experience: ﴿The Scrolls of Abraham﴾, for his scrolls are closer to admonition, as stated in the hadith of Abu Dharr, may Allah be pleased with him. ﴿And Moses﴾ he concluded with, for the predominant aspect of his book is the rulings, and the admonitions in it are few, including the powerful warnings such as the curse upon those who oppose the commands of the Torah, the greatest of which is the glad tidings of Muhammad, blessings and peace be upon him, and the news that they oppose it, as is mentioned in its latter part. Although the mention of the prophets, blessings and peace be upon them, is originally in the order of existence and superiority, its latter part urged purification, which is the cleansing from impurities that is the meaning of abstaining and embodying the attributes of Allah according to one's capacity. And in his coming and the reminder of it, there is an indication that Allah, glorified and exalted is He, did not neglect creation from the clarification [after He created them], for He did not create them in vain, for that is among the frivolities which is one of the greatest deficiencies [and He, glorified is He, is free from all defects]. Thus, its latter part returned to its first part, and the glorification of the Lord, glorified and exalted is He, and the purification of the soul as well, is the ultimate goal of its endeavor - and Allah is the one who grants success to what is right, and to Him is the return and the final destination.
