And when the intended meaning is the water of the man and the water of the woman, he said: ﴿It comes out﴾. Some have interpreted it with the affirmation of the preposition, thus understanding the exit from its place by his saying: ﴿from between the backbone﴾, meaning the backbone of the man, which is a solid bone composed of separate bones that his Lord has firmly bound together to the utmost degree of firmness from the shoulder to the tip of the tail. ﴿and the ribs﴾, meaning the ribs of the woman, which are the bones of the chest where the necklace is located. Ibn Jarir supported this, or what is adjacent to the collarbones from it, or what is between the two breasts and the collarbones, or four ribs from the right side of the chest, and four from its left, or the hands, legs, and eyes. And in every estimation, her desire is from in front of her, and the desire of the man is in what is hidden from him behind him. If the suppressor were removed, it would be understood that the water fills the mentioned space, and it would not be understood that it comes out from the owners of the space. Al-Baydawi said: And if it were correct that the drop originates from the excess of digestion, and separates from all the members until it is prepared to generate from it similar members, its place is in a network of intertwined veins among the two females. There is no doubt that the brain is the greatest of the organs in assisting in its generation, and for that reason it resembles it. Excessive indulgence in intercourse quickly leads to weakness in it, and it has a successor, which is the marrow, and it is in the backbone, with many branches descending to the ribs, and they are closer to the vessels of the semen, and for that reason they were specifically mentioned. Al-Malwi said: So that which brought it out from the great circumstances of the backbone and the ribs to the point that it was placed in its place from the two females until it was ejected, and then it was taken care of after that by transferring it from creation to creation after every forty days until it became a human who understands, speaks, builds palaces, and demolishes rocks, capable of resurrection.
