(p-370) Surah Al-Tariq

Its purpose is to clarify the glory of the Qur'an in its truthfulness in informing about the bliss of the people of faith and the punishment of the people of disbelief on the Day of Resurrection when the secrets are tested and the hidden matters [the intentions - ] are revealed about the weight of an atom and less than the weight, of what the noble recorders have recorded in the scrolls of deeds, after the completion of the appointed times, as was decreed in the eternity of eternities, without haste or delay from the appointed time or negligence. Its name, Al-Tariq, is the clearest indication of this promised truth by reflecting on the oath and the one sworn by, according to what the speech has coherently led to (In the name of Allah) who has all perfection (the Most Gracious) whose grace and justice encompass all creatures (the Most Merciful) who has specifically favored His allies with His guidance, so His generosity, kindness, and grace have manifested upon them.

* * For what has preceded [in - ] the end of Al-Burooj that the Qur'an is in a preserved tablet because its descent is surrounded by the armies of the opponents and by everything, it has informed that among its encompassing is the preservation of every individual from all creatures [the opposing - ] and the agreeing and the compatible, (p-371) to be rewarded for his deeds on the Day of establishing the truths and severing the ties. So He said, swearing to that due to their denial of it: "By the heaven" meaning the one with stars placed to preserve it from the rebellious for the sake of preserving [the Qur'an - ] the glorious that safeguards the path of truth. Al-Malwi said: [and - ] what is meant by it [here - ] is the one with the revolving spheres, not the higher heavens [by what - ] He has made in it of night and day and their cycle of three hundred and sixty degrees that never change at all in this [world - ] by decrease and [nor - ] increase by half a degree or a minute or a second or anything less than that. Rather, whenever one of them increases something, the other decreases accordingly, and he knows that by reason, transmission, and experience, so he knows that it is preserved [preserver - ] a living being that does not die, on a day when He does not forget or sleep - it has ended.

And when He swore by the heaven for what it has of honor and glory, it is a reminder of what is in it of the wonders of creation that indicate the overwhelming power. He swore by the most astonishing of what is in it, which is the kind of stars, then by its guardianship, which is prepared for protection, as a reminder of what is in that of the wonders of power. He said: "By Al-Tariq" meaning the kind of stars that appear at night and are hidden during the day, and it knocks on the ears of those who listen, scattering their assembly and destroying whom Allah wills among them for the guidance of [the people - ] by the Qur'an in the metaphorical paths and its appearance and shining in the sky for their guidance in the tangible paths, and it is originally (p-372) for the one traversing the path, and it is specifically known for coming at night because it finds the doors closed, so it needs to knock on them. Then it was used for the nomad in it like the star.
