Indeed, those who caused trials, meaning they mixed harm with what the powers cannot bear, must inevitably sway or be turned in any time and from any people they were. The believers and the believing women, meaning those firmly rooted in the description of faith. And when repentance is accepted before the gurgling of the throat, even if time is prolonged, He expressed it with a tool of delay and said: Then they did not repent, meaning from their sins and their disbelief. And since glorified is He, He does not punish anyone except for a reason, He caused, due to their sin and lack of repentance, His saying: For them, meaning specifically for their disbelief, is the punishment of Hell, meaning the level which they will encounter within it with the utmost aversion and grimness, this in the Hereafter. And for them, meaning along with that in both abodes, due to their trial of the allies of Allah, is the punishment of burning, meaning the punishment which is characterized by exaggeration in burning due to what they burned from the hearts of the allies. And He has certainly fulfilled His saying regarding those who denied the Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him, by destroying them in the worst destruction, defeated and subdued, even though they were certain that they were victorious, just as He did with those before them. This indicates that He is capable of all things, and it indicates that He initiates and brings back.
