Commentary

And when the skin is worthy that if it is stretched, it should reveal all that is in it from others, He said: "And it cast out what was in it" meaning it brought forth what was in its belly of wealth, treasures, and the dead, bringing it out quickly as if it were throwing it out. This is also like a carpet when it is unraveled. "And it became empty" meaning it intentionally and with great effort made itself free from that and left it behind. This was done by Him, glorified and exalted is He, in a manner such that the earth seemed as if it was acting upon this, and it became empty of everything that was in its belly, and it became apparent on its surface.
