Commentary
And when He established for them the preservation, He purified them from increase and decrease, and said: ﴿Noble﴾, meaning they are at the utmost of what they can be in purity of morals, chastity, and trustworthiness.
And when the preservation and trustworthiness were firmly established with utmost clarity, and the preserver might sometimes forget, He said: ﴿Writers﴾, meaning they are firmly grounded in the description of writing. They write it in the records just as the witnesses write among you the contracts, so that the recompense may occur with utmost accuracy.
