Commentary

Laughing for what it knows of its happiness. Rejoicing, meaning seeking joy for the human being. This is the change of the face from joy and its manifestation. It is bright and radiant due to what it sees from the glad tidings of the angels. This is because of what it experienced in the world of frowning faces and their changes and paleness from the fear of Allah, glorified and exalted is He, and what appears from His majesty on the Day of Resurrection, like Ibn Umm Maktum, may Allah be pleased with him, who was driven by the fear of the Hour to carry the banner in the fiercest of battles, like on the Day of Qadisiyyah, and to remain steadfast with it until he becomes like a pillar, not moving from his position at all to please the worshipped One.
