36Surely, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to prevent (people) from the way of Allah. So, they shall spend it, then it will become remorse for them, then they shall be overpowered, and those who disbelieve shall be gathered into Jahannam ,

And when He, glorified and exalted is He, informed about the conditions of the disbelievers in physical deeds, and their dominance was unlikely despite their multitude and strength, He informed about what brings them closer, clarifying their financial deeds. He said: "Indeed, those who disbelieved" meaning: despite their multitude, because they have covered the insights of their minds, which is the human being in reality, thus they have diminished in a way that cannot be comprehended. "They spend their wealth" meaning: they are determined to spend it on what is to come "to obstruct" meaning: by their claim to themselves and others "from the path of Allah" meaning: from following the path - which its greatness cannot be matched in greatness with its vastness, clarity, and ease. "So they will spend it" meaning: by a compelling decree upon them that they cannot escape from. "Then it will be" meaning: after spending it for a period, and He expressed it in a clear statement regarding its harm, saying: "upon them" and emphasized this by placing the source upon it, saying: "a regret" meaning: for its loss and lack of effect.
