And when He divided them with this division, which indicates that this is something that must happen, He began to mention their mockery, astonished by them, and said: ﴿They ask you﴾ meaning Quraysh, in a manner of renewal and continuity, a question of mockery, denial, and distance: ﴿About the Hour﴾ meaning the Last Resurrection, due to the abundance of what it threatens them with regarding Our matter. And when the question about it was ambiguous, He clarified it by saying: ﴿When will its arrival be﴾ meaning [in what time] will its anchoring be, meaning its occurrence or its stability and establishment.
