Commentary

And when he mentioned the expansion, he followed it with what it necessitated of benefits for the intended habitation that depends on the expansion. He said, as if clarifying it without conjunction: ﴿He brought forth from it﴾ meaning the earth ﴿its water﴾ by the bursting forth of springs. His addition of it to it is evidence that it is in it ﴿and its pasture﴾ which comes forth with water, and what is meant is what is grazed from it and its place and time.
