Commentary

And when he reminded them of what is in the context that is their bedding, as a sign of the completeness of His power, he followed the reminder with what is in the subject, which is their own selves, so that the verses of the selves and the horizons may gather, and it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. He said: ﴿And We created you﴾ meaning by that what indicates this from the manifestations of greatness ﴿in pairs﴾ tall and short, beautiful and ugly, males and females, for all of your kinds despite the distance of their regions and the separation of their abodes, so that your types may endure until the time when your cessation occurs.
