And when the giving is based on compensation, it is more pleasing to the soul of the recipient. He said: ﴿As a reward﴾. And he clarified that he did not make it a reward for them except as an honor for the Prophet ﷺ. For truly, glorified and exalted is He, nothing is obligatory upon Him from anyone, because no one can fulfill the gratitude for the blessing of His blessings. For indeed, His actions are among His blessings. He said: ﴿From your Lord﴾, meaning the one who does good to you by honoring your nation with various honors. And in ﴿A gift﴾ there is an indication of that, which is giving without a reward. ﴿As a measure﴾ means according to the measure of sufficiency, even if a person among them does what he does and considers all types of measures. And from their saying: He gave him, so I consider him - if he continues to give and increases it until it exceeds the count, and he said: My sufficiency, he cannot need anything with this giving, even if he increases in spending. And the expression was chosen with it instead of 'sufficient' for example, because it is more impactful in the soul. For it is said: If this is the measure, then what is the expectation of the reward?
