And when the prevention of evils is preferable to the attainment of benefits, He mentioned the warning first and said: ﴿For the transgressors﴾ meaning those who exceed the limits of Allah ﴿is a return﴾ meaning a place of return and refuge after Allah had created them for it. It is as if they were in it, then He prepared them to exit from it and to distance themselves from it by their original nature, then by what Allah revealed from the Books and sent from the Messengers. It is as if by that He brought them out from it, then they returned to it by what they innovated of denial.
