And when he mentioned their bewilderment and astonishment, which is a sign of the judgment's saying, and the places of that day were called days for the completion of judgments in every one of them, distinguishing it thereby from what is other than it, he said: "This," meaning that whole day, "is the Day of Separation," meaning between what the servants have differed in regarding the truth and falsehood, the high and the low. Then he resumed his saying: "We have gathered you," meaning, O deniers of this nation regarding what we have of greatness, "and the former ones," meaning those whom we have previously destroyed, and they were more numerous than you in number and greater in might, so that we may separate between the disputants and inflict punishment and reward with recompense. And there was among you one who would say: I can handle ten of the angels of Hellfire. Then he indicated the cessation of the means and said, causing that to happen:
