Commentary
And when He divided them into two groups, He mentioned the recompense of each group. He said, beginning the response to the one who asks about that, giving good news to the grateful who has prepared by his ascension in the ranks of worship to the Kingdom of the Exalted, for a soul and a fragrance and a garden of bliss. And warning the disbeliever who has prepared by descending into the depths of disobedience to be bound by the lowly things for a lodging of boiling water and a burning fire. He presented to the sinner because the path of chaotic dissemination is clearer. And to balance the beginning with the grateful in the essence of the division so that fear and hope may be equal, and so that the grateful may be first and last. And because submission to the warning is more complete as it indicates power, especially concerning the people of ignorance who are far removed from the knowledge of the legal obligations. And He increased in the Great Qur'an in the invocation of encouragement and deterrence because it is what the ignorant understand, who are the majority of people without proofs and evidences. For they do not understand it except the elite. And He emphasized for the sake of refuting the disbelievers: "Indeed, we" meaning, regarding what we have of greatness, "have prepared" meaning, we have made ready and brought forth with severity and harshness "for the disbelievers" meaning, those deeply entrenched in disbelief specifically. And He presented the easier in punishment, for the easier is more ascending, and He said: "Chains" by which they are led and ascend. And the reading of the one who added a vowel indicates that it is very great. And likewise, the pause of Abu Amr on it with the alif while preventing the inflection. "And shackles" meaning, restraints that bind their hands to their necks in them, and they are humiliated by them. "And a blazing fire" meaning, a very hot fire, intensely burning.
