And when he mentioned the cups, he followed them with their purpose by saying, specifying by the conjunction to what is determined: they will be given to drink in it what their souls desire and their eyes find delight in: ﴿and they will be given to drink﴾ from whom they desire among their servants who are countless in number ﴿in it﴾ meaning the Paradise or those cups ﴿a cup﴾ meaning wine in a vessel ﴿its mixture﴾ is to the utmost perfection ﴿ginger﴾ is at the height of pleasure, and the Arabs used to enjoy the drink mixed with it for its digestibility and for enhancing the taste and flavor.
