Commentary
And when the translation of this is as mentioned: a shaded and moderate garden, he added to it with the conjunction to indicate the establishment of this description and its conjunction with what preceded it, his saying: ﴿and close﴾ meaning near in elevation ﴿its shades are upon them﴾ without any occurrence from it that would remove the moderation ﴿and its clusters are made easy﴾ the plural of cluster with a kasra (p-144) and it is the bunch and a name for the fruits that are harvested, meaning the gathered ones ﴿made easy﴾ meaning easy to reach, a great facilitation that does not turn the hand away from it afterward, nor thorns for everyone who wants to take it in any condition, whether they are reclining or otherwise. If they are sitting, it hangs down to them, and if they are standing, it rises to them from the ground. And this is a reward for them for what they used to humble themselves for the command of Allah.
