Commentary
'And He rewarded them for what they patiently endured.' This means because of what they established of patience in worship, by adhering to obedience and avoiding disobedience, and by restraining themselves from the good things and giving up the beloved things. 'A garden,' meaning a comprehensive garden from which they eat what they desire, as a reward for what they used to feed. And when He mentioned what covers the inward, He mentioned what covers the outward, saying: 'And silk,' meaning it is of the utmost greatness.
