Commentary
And when their action was solely for Allah, it caused their reward, so He said informing that He protected them from harm and brought them joy: ﴿So Allah protected them﴾, meaning the Greatest King, due to their fear of ﴿the evil of that day﴾, meaning the great day. He indicated the bliss of the outward by saying: ﴿And He met them﴾, meaning a great meeting in it and in others ﴿with beauty﴾, meaning goodness and a blessing that appears on their faces and a pleasant life. And regarding the bliss of the inward, He said: ﴿and joy﴾, meaning everlasting in their hearts in contrast to their fear in this world and the frowning of the disbelievers in the Hereafter and their disgrace. - And this indicates that describing the day with frowning is to denote the exaggeration in the frowning of its people. And He indicated the dwelling by saying:
