Then he went, meaning this person, after turning away from the truth, to his people, not thinking about the consequence of what he did in denying, while he is in a state of stretching, meaning he boasts with his denial and his turning away and his lack of concern about that. From stretching, he replaced the second letter with an alif for ease, so it became from the stretching of the back, as if it assists him in extending his steps, or that the arrogant, when he walks, bends his back. And he did this due to his flexibility in disobedience instead of shyness, embarrassment, and humility.
