Commentary
And when he depicted the time of his regret for the world and his aversion to it, he mentioned the ultimate goal of that. He said, addressing the Prophet ﷺ specifically, indicating that no one other than him understands this correctly: "To your Lord" meaning a promised time and the judgment of the One who does good to you by sending you and affirming you in all that he conveyed about you and supporting you against all who oppose you, not to anyone else. "On that Day" meaning when this matter occurs. "The procession" [meaning the gathering -] and the place of the gathering and its time, all of that is included in His judgment. The rulings of the people of the world have been cut off from it. Either the angels will lead him to evident happiness or to evident misery, or it is a metaphor for his presentation after death before Allah, the Exalted, and it will not benefit him if the admonition of death is realized for him by his saying: I will die and find rest, for he returns in death to his Master. If he was obedient, he will meet Him with what pleases Him, and if he was disobedient, he will meet Him with what is met by the runaway servant according to the extent of his running away.
