﴿And you leave﴾ meaning they leave in whatever manner it may be, even if it is not commendable. ﴿The Hereafter﴾ because they hate it due to their committing what harms them in it. The pronoun is plural even though the address is directed to an individual, considering the meaning as an indication that no one is safe from the blameworthy haste, except for individuals whom Allah has preserved by His mighty power. The verse contains a rhetorical device: it mentions love first as evidence of hatred second, and leaving second as evidence of turning towards and taking first. Their blaming souls blame them for their shortcoming in evil just as your own self urges you to increase in good and to hasten towards it. So, how excellent is that self, and may it be elevated in rank. As for their selves, they urge them for the sake of blame for their shortcoming in evil towards being attached to the fleeting worldly life and turning away from the everlasting due to its being absent. So, how wretched are those selves.
