Commentary
And when the matter of the Resurrection became great due to what has preceded, this was confirmed by the fact that the matter in it is unlike what we are accustomed to in this world, from the presence of a smuggler or a ruler other than the one feared by the sought one, or something from the scattering of the word and its division. So he said: ﴿The human says﴾, meaning with the intensity of his terror, in accordance with his nature. ﴿On that Day﴾, meaning when this great affair and the greatest calamity occurs, and he conveyed it by saying a nominal sentence from a preceding news and a delayed subject, and he said: ﴿Where is the escape?﴾, meaning the fleeing and the place to which one flees, and the time suitable for that, a saying of one who is hopeless and astonished, led to it by his nature. This is when Hell is driven with seventy thousand chains, each chain held by seventy thousand angels, and it has a roar and a gasp.
