Commentary
And when the statement of his obstinacy came to an end, the desire arose for detailing his punishment in his return. He said, clarifying some of what his exertion in ascent made him understand: ﴿I will cause him to enter﴾, meaning with a warning that must come close, ﴿Sakar﴾, meaning the fiery level that acts upon the brains due to the intensity of its heat, which is beyond description. So he caused him to enter it and made him experience its severe heat, and his brain was melted by it. His intellect and all of his essence were flowed away by its intense heat as a punishment for his thinking. This is what he has decreed, imagined, and depicted in his management within the layers of his brain to burn the hearts of the friends of Allah and His chosen ones.
