Commentary
And when they clarified His virtue in terms of the miraculous nature and other aspects, they explained the intended meaning by the essence that indicates their deep understanding of the meanings after their knowledge of the beauty of the structures. They said: ﴿He guides﴾ meaning He clarifies the ultimate clarity along with the call in gentleness and guidance ﴿to the right path﴾ meaning the truth and correctness which nearly escapes due to its heaviness upon the souls inclined towards desires and lightness. Its opposite is misguidance and folly suitable for the deficiencies of the souls. And when they described Him with these perfections, they caused their saying to be a result of employing the practical power in hastening towards correctness without any delay at all: ﴿So we believed﴾ meaning everyone who listened from us did not fail to join us, nor did anyone stop after listening ﴿to it﴾ meaning we established safety for the one conveying the Qur'an that we would not deny him or oppose him in the slightest way because of this Qur'an.
And when they informed about the past, and faith only benefits with continuity, (p-467) they said, adding to what you might estimate: So we found Allah in the present, for that is the result of faith in the Qur'an, and we cast off the partners: ﴿And we will not﴾ meaning while we are establishing faith in the present, we will not ﴿associate﴾ after that at all. They emphasized that it is a matter that is hardly believable ﴿with our Lord﴾ meaning the One who has no kindness established towards us from existence and what follows it except from Him ﴿anyone﴾ meaning from the creation, for He did not associate anyone in any of our affairs, and the proofs of monotheism have been clarified in what we heard from this Qur'an.
