And when the news about their drowning was completed, and he presented it for the purpose of emphasizing the greatness of the Messenger, blessings and peace be upon him, in response to his call, warning the Arabs not to expel their Messenger, blessings and peace be upon him, [to expel him] to something like that, he turned to the saying of Noah, peace be upon him, from the beginning of his saying when Allah, the Most High, informed him that they would be drowned and that none among them would believe except for those who had believed after his trial with them had prolonged, to the extent that a man would come to him with his son and say to him: 'Beware that this may mislead you, for my father warned against him.' The form of generality is not a specific text in its individuals at all, seeking to fulfill his promise and clarifying his intent: 'And Noah said.' And he omitted the tool as is the habit of the people of civilization, so he said: 'My Lord, do not leave.' This means do not leave in any way at all, even if it is in the slightest way, 'on the earth' meaning all of it from its east to its west, its plains, its mountains, and its valleys, 'of the disbelievers' (p-457) meaning those firmly rooted in disbelief, which was for them a nature and disposition. 'Dweller' meaning anyone who dwells in it, and it is from the words of generality that are used in general negation, so it is said 'from the dwellings' or 'the house' not 'the actions,' otherwise it would have been 'dwellers.' And it is permissible - and this is closer - that this supplication was made when he boarded the ship and the beginning of the drowning among them, wanting by it the generality, disliking that anyone among them remains on the peak of a mountain or the like, not the essence of the drowning, and that the meaning of what preceded it is the judgment of their drowning and the inevitability of the decree by it or the commencement of it.
