And when he mentioned their plotting and what they revealed of their saying, he turned to what the listener would expect from his matter, saying: "And they have led astray" meaning the idols and their worshippers by this worship "many" of [Your servants -] those whom You created upon the sound nature from the people of their time and from those who came after them.
