And when they argued with him, blessings and peace be upon him, after this clear statement, which there is no doubt in its indication of the intended realization of pure certainty, they increased in their argumentation and attributed him to misguidance. They disobeyed him in the worst disobedience and confronted him with the most heinous words and actions. He folded that, indicating it by saying, beginning: "Noah said"; meaning after his gentleness towards them and his kindness to them, complaining about them: "O my Lord"; meaning, O You who are gracious to me, the planner for me, the one who manages all my affairs.

And when the weak were the majority of the people, such that when they gathered, the heads of the strong were indicated by wealth and children, and they were as if they were all, he said, affirming that their disobedience to him after that is something that is far from occurring: "Indeed, they"; meaning the people whom I called to You, with my patience towards them, for a thousand years except fifty years, "disobeyed me"; meaning in what I commanded them and called them to, so they refused to respond to my call and fled from me in the most severe fleeing and opposed me in the worst opposition. "And they followed"; meaning with all their effort, looking (p-447) to the presumed immediate after leaving the established, immediately and eventually, "those"; meaning [from -] their arrogant leaders with their wealth, who are deceived by their children. And he explained them by saying: "Did not increase him"; meaning anything from the things.

And when wealth is for a person - a child, and it is appropriate to thank Allah who has granted him that to be good for him in both abodes, and likewise the child, he said: "His wealth"; meaning with its abundance, "and his children"; likewise. And it is the genus in the reading of the movement - and likewise in the reading of Ibn Kathir and the Basri scholars and Hamzah and Al-Kisai with the vowel and the silence, as it is a language in the singular like sadness and the state of being sad, or it may be in this as a plural like lions and the lions. And the choice of Abu Amr for this reading in this letter alone is to indicate the plurality of the abundance based on the vowel, which is the strongest of the movements, to indicate that they - even if their abundance increased and their power grew - do not increase them in anything "except loss"; by distancing from Allah and blindness from the path of guidance. For indeed, the expansion for them in this world by that was a cause for their tyranny and arrogance and their following of their desires until they disbelieved and led others astray (p-448), so they were overcome by them, and they became a cause for their misery and loss by their loss. And they thought that it had increased them in elevation, and in the context is evidence that they did not gain prestige except through it.
