Commentary
'And He will provide you' indicates that the place is for the intention of exaggeration, expansion, and abundance. 'With wealth and children' implies that whoever increases in seeking forgiveness, Allah grants him what pleases him and protects him from what harms him. 'And He will make for you' means in both abodes 'gardens' meaning great orchards. The repetition of the worker is for emphasis and expansion because the situation calls for it, so He said: 'And He will make for you rivers' specifically for you, distinguishing you from those who do not do that. Indeed, whoever adheres to seeking forgiveness, Allah will make for him a way out from every worry and a relief from every distress. It is narrated that Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, sought rain and did not increase beyond seeking forgiveness. When it rained, it was said: O Commander of the Believers! We did not see you seeking rain. He said: I sought rain with the keys of the heavens by which the rain descends, then he recited this verse. Al-Qushayri said: Whoever has a need to Allah will not reach his desire except by prioritizing seeking forgiveness. He said: The actions of the people of Noah were contrary to that. Whenever Noah increased in assurance and ways of goodness and charity, they increased in disbelief and forgetfulness.
