Commentary

And when there was in [the mention of] this creation a great indication of what they used to say: If the matter is as they say regarding the gathering and Paradise, we would surely be more favored with Allah than you, and we would enter it as we are now more favored than you [with Him] due to what we have of wealth, and abundance in this world, and prestige, and acceptance. And it is a reminder that all are equal in that they are from a drop of sperm, so what is their virtue in this world with these apparent blessings except He, glorified and exalted is He. And He has favored the believers with the hidden blessings that have increased them in their ability to attain them through the purification with these practical attributes that arise from the scientific attribute. And He is capable of adding to the hidden blessings the apparent blessings. Therefore, He caused His saying: And He affirmed by negating the oath, indicating the lack of need for it due to the abundance of the evidence that suffices for it, for what that oath indicates of strangeness at that time due to the abundance of the disbelievers and the strength of their power: ﴿So﴾ meaning: So it resulted from our creation for them from that reminder that we are capable of everything we desire and that nothing can incapacitate us, meaning: no ﴿I swear﴾. So He directed the saying to the individuals of the pronoun, stripped of the manifestation of greatness, so that no obstinate one would be obstinate in the matter of oneness. ﴿By the Lord﴾ meaning: the Sustainer, and Lord, and Originator, and Planner of ﴿the east﴾ which the sun and the moon and the wandering stars rise every day in a place of it according to the method that He has planned, and the upright law that He has perfected and made subservient, six months ascending and six months descending. ﴿And the west﴾ likewise, according to this precise arrangement that is not subject to disruption, and from it night and day and the four seasons arise. Thus, the rectification of the world is through the knowledge of calculation and the rectification of food and drink and other needs. And each of the two colors is found after it had not existed, and the vegetation from the stars and trees is likewise a continuous habit indicating that He is capable of creation and annihilation of everything He wants as He wants without any burden.

And when the meaning was: I do not swear by that, even if it is great, for the matter in its clarity does not need an oath, as if an adversary said to his opponent: Swear, and he says to him: The matter is sufficient without my swearing, since the one who needs an oath is one who has no evidence. Then he comes with evidence that has no doubt with it. And they were in their preference of themselves - while acknowledging Allah's power - like those who deny the ability to change the matter. He affirmed His saying returning to the manifestation of greatness [after dispelling the confusion with what is clearer in its clarity than the sun: ﴿Indeed, we﴾ meaning: with what we have of greatness ﴿are surely capable﴾ with types of affirmation with the tool and the nominal and the turning to the manifestation of greatness -] in each of the name and the news. Thus, in His informing after the oath with the affirmation, there is an indication of the highest ranks of affirmation.
