And when he mentioned their delights, he followed it with what he gave them. He said, beginning anew and seeking clarification without a conjunction indicating that His mercy is what brought them to that without any cause from them in reality: ﴿Those﴾ meaning those who are in the utmost exaltation for what they have of these high attributes. He expressed it in a way that indicates that He hastened their reward, glorified is He, saying: ﴿In gardens﴾ meaning in this world and the Hereafter. As for the Hereafter, it is clear. As for this world, it is because they, for what they strived in by exhausting themselves in these attributes until they embodied them, He gave them directly delights from the intimacy of closeness and the sweetness of conversing with Him that nothing can compare to at all. And Paradise is a place where all comforts and pleasures gather, and all disliked things and evils are absent from it. Its opposite is the Fire. And He increased them beyond that by saying: ﴿Honored﴾ expressing it in the passive form indicating the generality of honor from the Creator and the created, the speaking and others. This is because He, glorified is He, decreed that their worth be elevated until they become the greatest identifiers for them in the unseen, exaggerated in their honor upon confrontation, so that they may have a share from the creation of their Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him. He met him on the day of Banu Qurayzah. Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, had preceded him to them and said: O Messenger of Allah, what is upon you that you do not approach these vile ones? He said: And why? Perhaps you heard something from them that was harmful. If you had approached them, they would not have said anything of that. Then he approached them and said: Has Allah disgraced you, O brothers of the monkeys and pigs? They said: Hold on, O Abu al-Qasim, you were not ignorant. And they spoke to him in the best way they could. And likewise, Quraysh was with him before the migration in most of their conditions. This is in this world, and as for the Hereafter, the angels will greet them with glad tidings at the time of death and in their graves and from the time they rise from their graves until the time they enter their palaces.
