Commentary
And when salvation is not possible from the caller who is capable of bringing them, he alludes to bringing them and attracting them to him by saying: ﴿calls﴾. It may be that this is a reality, so it says in its calling to itself: 'Come to me, O polytheist! Come to me, O hypocrite!' and so on. Then it picks them up like a bird picks up seeds. ﴿Who﴾ means every person ﴿turned away﴾, meaning from the jinn and mankind, that is, whoever has turned away from his right to turn towards him, whether that turning away is from it or from the deeds that are meant to save from it. And when turning away may be due to a predominant nature, so its owner is among those who are excused, it clarified that the matter is not like that, so it said: ﴿and turned away﴾, meaning he has caused his original upright nature to avoid the causes of salvation.
