And when he mentioned, he attached the closest of people to the heart and the most honored of those who must defend him and protect him. He followed it with what comes next in rank and affection, and what is redemption by it, especially among the Arabs, is one of the most disgraceful humiliations. He said: ﴿And his companion﴾, meaning his wife, whom he must defend and always be with, as she is the equal of his soul in this world.
